Alvin Ash papers, 1898-1984.

Summary: Collection consists of letters sent and received by Ash, three scrapbooks, and an unpublished biography of Ash by his daughter Marinell Ash. The letters are from relatives, friends, and business associates concerning mostly personal matters or his service as a Rough Rider. The scrapbooks consist of a broad range of newspaper clippings with the Rough Riders and issues on the U.S.-Mexico border being the primary topics.

Ash grew up in New Mexico and joined Theodore Roosevelt's Rough Riders during the Spanish-American War in 1898.
